I wanted to say a big thanks to Angie and Gordon at Manchester based clothing label Me&Yu for visiting my work in the Northern Sky Graduate Exhibition at The Cube Gallery, Manchester. I have been mentioned on their blog, check that out here. Also, check out their amazing, affordable hand printed clothes at their website here.
Their shop is located in Manchester's Afflecks Palace (on the top floor) in the Northern Quarter. You should definitely go and have a look around if you're ever around that area!
You can also shop online, here!

Abstraction
Strictly speaking, 'abstraction' refers to art unconcerned with the literal depiction of things from the visible world—it can, however, refer to an object or image which has been distilled from the real world, or indeed, another work of art.
The following images are abstracted from a selection of my figurative ink paintings. They are an artwork in themselves, brought to life via another work of art.
I'm very interested in 'the beautiful'. My art is strongly influenced by aesthetics and aesthetic values.
I do not want to tell someone what they should be feeling when they look at my art. Just as I do not want to tell someone what they should see, or how they should see it. I'm interested to know what is seen by others from what I create.
These images bare certain similarities to the Rorschach inkblot test images; a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analysed using psychological interpretation. Some psychologists use this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning.
It is important to note that these images are entirely chance. There was no conscious decisions in the way they were created.
I see something in each image...
What do you see?

Present for my best friend.
Dear Jade,
You didn't know I was doing this and to be honest, neither did I! If you're here then you've received a tip off via text message!
I decided that if this turned out well I was going to give it to you as a present. So, I think that we should go pick a frame and get it sorted out for you soon, if you want it that is! :)
I love you lots.
Thanks for being my best friend.

Self Portrait
Just a quick self portrait. First time I've drawn something for myself rather than for University in a long, long while. I'm on a filming role, so here's another video for you all!
Edit: Just realised it looks like I have an unfortunate head twitch. I promise this isn't the case, the video is just sped up by 800% ;)
Ink painting video.
As promised. Hope the music isn't too annoying! Feel free to skip through parts if you don't want to watch the whole 8 and a half minutes, I couldn't speed it up any faster. Video editing is harder than it looks!
New video footage coming soon...
Just filmed another short video of the process of an ink artwork. Didn't turn out as well as I'd planned but I still think it's worthy of showing. As soon as the video is uploaded to youtube I will be posting on here. As for now, heres a less-than-optimum-quality iphone photo of the finished piece.
